Contest Guidelines

  1. Florida students in grades one through twelve who have not previously won this state storytelling contest are eligible to participate. A competition or an elimination process must select them.

  2. Winning students must submit the student information sheet and videotape by December 31st, 2007 to:

Emily Harris
1689 Seascape Circle
Tarpon Springs, Florida 34689

Direct questions to:
emily[at]emilyharris.net

or (727) 348-4323

  1. A blind judging of the videotapes will select the six winning students. Please identify the student on the tape's label, but do NOT include student's information on the tape itself. To do so will disqualify the entry. Please make sure the videotapes can be clearly viewed and heard.

  2. The six selected nominees will share their entry story at the 2008 Florida Storytelling Association StoryCamp, which will be held at Lake Yale near Eustis, Florida.

  3. A mentor or parent must accompany each winning student to StoryCamp. The student and accompanying adult will receive camp scholarships, including registration, room and meals for Friday, March 28th through Sunday, March 30th, 2008. Transportation is NOT included.
